Chinese Olympics-Humanitarian Violations update

Japundit alerted me to the news that a four-time gold medalist from the UK has accused China of abusing young gymnasts for the sake of "training."

Sir Matthew Pinsent told BBC Radio that children were being beaten and pushed to unacceptable limits in China in preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. An ominous sign, perhaps, of things to come.

The IOC says they will investigate, but for now the response to accusations about evil practices in China's gymnastics program: "Don't jump to conclusions."
